About The Finance Linkup
Last updated 26 October 2026
"Link up" is Trini for coming together, and that is the idea. The Finance Linkup is an independent publication, based in Trinidad and Tobago, where people link up with the basics of money in plain language, at their own pace.
Many people in the Caribbean were never taught how budgets, interest, insurance or investing really work. You should not need a degree to understand your own money. So every lesson here is short, uses everyday examples and tells you the risks as well as the benefits.
What you will find here
- Lessons on budgeting, saving, debt, inflation, insurance, investing, retirement and tax.
- Calculators in TT dollars for budgets, savings and loans.
- News summaries and an economic calendar that link to the original reporting.
- A glossary and a scam watch guide.
How we work
- Clear language. Hard words are explained, and the glossary is always one click away.
- No hype. We never promise returns and we never tell you to buy anything.
- Local first. We use TT dollars and local examples, and point you to local official sources.
- Honest about limits. We are a learning site, not a bank, broker or adviser.
